Salt Lake City was at the forefront of the electrical revolution, initially with good and bad results (like any new life changing innovation). Trolley Square proper was a product of E.H. Harriman, president of the Union Pacific Railroad. He was also well-known for his obsession with capturing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
The Trolley Square History Museum is housed within Trolley Square and is open various days and hours throughout the week.
On a special note, I had a hand in the creation of the museum’s lighted track grid display which sits in the floor.
